Athens Area Habitat is currently at capacity and is not accepting new applications for assistance at this time.
Repair A Home
Athens Habitat helps struggling homeowners maintain their homes through two programs to make sure families preserve their homeownership. Home maintenance tends to fall off the priority list when it becomes difficult to pay for basic living expenses. But over time, this deferred maintenance can cause unsafe living conditions. Our programs help low-income Clarke County homeowners who are challenged by age, disability, or circumstance obtain critical home repairs.
Brush With Kindness
Brush With Kindness makes needed repairs to the interiors and exteriors of their homes in order to make them more livable. Some of our available home repairs include, but are not limited to: exterior painting, roof, window/door, and general safety repairs.
In order to be eligible, you must be a low-income homeowner living in Clarke County and in need of critical home repair. (Brush With Kindness Application will be made available online when we resume accepting applications.)
Emergency Handicap Access Ramp Program (EHARP)
Athens Habitat partners with Housing & Community Development to build ramps for low-income, physically disabled individuals to improve their quality of life and access to their homes.
In order to be eligible, you must be a low-income, disabled homeowner in Clarke County. Fill out the application below and bring it by the office at 532 Barber Street. (EHARP Application will be made available online when we resume accepting applications.)
