A universally recognized strategy for breaking the cycle of poverty is homeownership. Having deserving families rent our multi-family units is the first step toward our mission of creating a decent, affordable residence for everyone in our community.
Our affordable rental units are located in the most convenient areas of Athens. Each unit is walking distance to a local grocery store, bus stop, recreational park, and attractions downtown.
Rent is based on 30% of an applicants’ total income and cannot be less than $300. Rent cost may or may not include water costs depending on the unit available. Rental units may be 1 Bedroom/1 Bath or 2 Bedroom/1 Bath. Handicap accessible units are 1 Bedroom/1 Bath only.
In order to be eligible, you must demonstrate need for residential stability, have a monthly income of at least $1,100, which may include SSI/SSDI benefits, and be a resident of Clarke, Oconee, or Oglethorpe County.
