Here at Athens Habitat we’re really looking forward to the holiday season. There’s nothing better than getting to help families experience the holidays in their new homes for the first time! It’s been a busy year for us and we’re excited for the opportunity to give thanks to everyone in the community who has made furthering our mission possible this year.

Habitat for Humanity is all about supporting our local community, so we want to encourage folks around Athens to participate in Small Business Saturday. We have many community partners that help us further our mission and it would mean so much to us if the Athens community would help us thank them by providing them with business on this special day.

In addition, our own ReStores will also be open for Small Business Saturday if you want to come find some one-of-a-kind gifts perfect for the holiday season. But keep in mind, the office and the two ReStores will be closed on Black Friday so our employees can enjoy Thanksgiving with their families and friends and we hope others in the community are able to do so as well.

And finally for Cyber Monday we would like to give some more encouragement to get involved in the Amazon Smile program! By shopping at smile.amazon.com you get all of the same merchandise as regular Amazon, but a percentage of the proceeds from your purchases goes to support local charitable organizations, including Athens Area Habitat for Humanity! Like we said, we are all about supporting our local community, and Amazon Smile allows us to do that while still taking advantage of the Cyber Monday deals.
