Habitat for Humanity Annual Fund

Together, we will do great things…

We invite you to join us in our most ambitious project to date, Micah’s Creek, a culturally blended neighborhood where cost-manageable housing meets environmentally friendly design and a focus on youth development. And that’s just the beginning!

Everyone knows Habitat builds homes. But what if we built an entire neighborhood of owner-occupied houses, in an under-resourced school district, and studied its impact on kids and families?

What if we built homes for university students coming from homelessness, and made them part of that community? And what if we built a youth association center there as well?

We believe that such a neighborhood will not only give those kids and their families a foothold for the future, but that it can serve as a model for similar communities across the country.

It’s all about partnership, and not only among Habitat, Lydia’s Place, UGA, W&A Engineering and others to do the work. It’s also about combining federal grants, state grants, and local donations to make it happen! As of December, 2022, we’ve earned the pledged support of the US Senate, the State of Georgia, and Athens-Clarke County to fund about half the work that needs to be done.

It’s enough to get us started. But your donation today, in any amount, will help ensure we make it all the way to the finish line!

Athens, GA, is a small town that does big things! We know our supporters expect nothing less of Athens Area Habitat. You can be a part of this transformational project by contributing to our annual fund drive this year, with the goal of raising $100,000 for Micah’s Creek.
