Teambuilding with Athens Area Habitat

Habitat build volunteers

Did you know? People who volunteer by helping others are happier, healthier, and more confident! That’s why teambuilding exercises that provide real-world benefits to others are more effective than isolated exercises such as adventures or ropes courses.

Teambuilding with Athens Area Habitat is building your community and building trust within your team. So maybe it’s not surprising that during their championship winning years, the Georgia Bulldogs football team, Gymdogs, and UGA women’s equestrian team all took part in team builds with AAHFH!

Take a chance, make a difference, build a house.

Recognition

When you partner with Athens Area Habitat for Humanity, your organization will receive recognition for your hard work on behalf of our community. A banner will be placed at the build site, which your organization is free to keep as a souvenir after your final build day.

In addition, you’ll receive co-branded hats and T-shirts for all participants. You’ll also have the option to have your first build written up on our blog, if you choose. Your efforts will be publicized via our social media, and each participant will receive a group photo with your team.

What to Expect

Before the Build

Your teambuilding group should consist of 12-20 people. Larger groups may still participate, but will be split into groups of 12-20 across different days.

A $50 per person fee will include catered lunch on the build site, a co-branded banner at the site, a co-branded hat and shirt for each participant, and a guided insights session after the build.

Each participant will need to fill out a liability waiver, a brief skills inventory, and a photo waiver to be submitted at least one week in advance of the build date.

Your organization will have the option to designate a leader for the insights session or have a Habitat staff member lead the session for you. Habitat will provide session materials.

A vector logo from your organization will be needed for banners, hats, and shirts. If your organization requires a co-branding agreement, arrangements must be made 30 days in advance.

On Build Day

Wear closed-toed shoes (preferably work boots). We provide gloves, helmets, and safety glasses.

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. You will receive duct tape name tags and group numbers to put on your clothes.

After the Build

AAHFH will send out the group photo to all participants.

AAHFH will circulate press releases describing the event day.
