Volunteer Information
As a non-profit organization, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity depends on volunteers in the Athens area for support. Without the generous contributions of so many individuals and organizations, the service we provide to Athens families would not be possible. Every volunteer and every hour donated makes a difference. Below are the many ways you can get involved and volunteer with Athens Habitat:
1. Help construct new Habitat houses.
Construction takes place Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturdays, our biggest build days, are open to large groups as well as individuals. Weekdays are open to individuals only. All tools are provided on site. NO CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED!We hope to begin construction on homes in Oglethorpe County in upcoming months.
Contact Tiffany Stone, to volunteer at a Habitat construction site.
2. Volunteer in the Habitat for Humanity Restore.
Volunteers are always needed at the Habitat thrift store to help with organizing incoming donations, loading and unloading the donation pick-up truck, folding clothes, etc.3. Join a committee.
