Earth Day

Earth Day, April 22, was created as a day to show support for environmental protection, to reduce, reuse, recyle, restore, and replenish. These five words define what the Habitat for Humanity ReStore is all about.


Twilight 2013

The Terrapin Twilight Bike Race is one of the most popular events in Athens, and it benefits Athens Habitat for Humanity! This year, the 2013 Twilight Bike Race will be on April 26-27th. While the main event is the bike race, there are also many other events in Athens for the race.


My Athens Is: The Art Gallery

We are officially done with the My Athens Is... Instagram challenge, and have finally chosen all of the pictures that will be used in the gallery! The opening of the gallery is only two and a half weeks away, and we have some important dates for you to mark on your calendar!


Collegiate Challenge 2013

This week and next, we are holding our 2013 Collegiate Challenge! Our Collegiate Challenge is basically an alternative spring break in which students from certain schools can opt to spend their spring break in Athens, where they will spend the week helping us on a construction project for the community.


Second Ground Breaking at Tillman Place

We will be holding a ground breaking ceremony for our second house (of five total) at TIllman Place this week! This ceremony is held to symbolize the beginning of construction of a new Habitat home, in which we are taking the first step to starting the project: "breaking ground."


Athens Home and Garden Show

The purpose of the Athens Home and Garden Show is to educate and inform the Athens Area consumer about the products and services available to them from the builder and associate members of the Athens Area Home Builders Association. The show also serves as a fund raising event for the Association and as a service project in which the consumer can become a part of!

Parade of Lights

The 2012 Athens-Clarke County Parade of Lights is this Thursday, December 6th, and the theme this year is A Charlie Brown Christmas! We are all so excited to participate, and for our float we will be building Snoopy's dog house!


Volunteering at Habitat

There are so many volunteer opportunities for those looking to become involved with Habitat for Humanity! We Went Big at Homecoming!

5th Annual Jittery Joe's Fall Classic Century: A Success!

Eat, Drink, House Many

On October 17th Square One Fish Co will be hosting a fundraiser that will benefit Athens Habitat! A five course dinner, complete with wine pairings, will be served. The menu and wine pairings can be viewed above. The price for the dinner is $44 plus gratuity, and ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the proceeds will be given to the Athens Area Habitat for Humanity!

We're Looking for Volunteers!

Jittery Joe's 5th Annual Fall Classic Century We are looking for volunteers to help out with our Jittery Joe's Fall Classic Century Bike Ride! We need volunteers to help distribute food and water to bike riders, help set up the event, to be at the Sag Stops to provide the bikers with support, help out with the fall festival, and to help clean up after the event is over.

On Saturday, October 13th, we will be hosting our 5th Annual Jittery Joe’s Classic Century bike ride, with an exciting new sponsor- Clif Bar! For the ride, we have two scenic ride options: 62 miles or 31 miles! Simmons Street is in the middle of a historically troubled area of Athens, suffering from high crime and drug problems. Habitat for Humanity has established a presence in the community by building communities like the Carpenter's Circle, located off Burney Street, and acquiring a number of rental properties in this area, hoping to create a better living situation.
