2012 Committee of 1,000 Celebration

Thank you to everyone who attended our annual committee of 1,000 celebration on Thursday January 26th. The event was held at the Georgian and there was lots of great food and music. Yelenia Casas, the daughter of Habitat homeowners also gave a touching speech about her family's Habitat experience.


House #74 Dedication

On Friday January 20, 2012 Athens Habitat for Humanity held a dedication ceremony celebrating the completion of House #74 and the official key exchange to new homeowner, Marie Pickens Woods.

This past week, the Athens Lions Club was so kind to think of one of Habitat's tenants on Thanksgiving. The local Lions Club chapter donated Thanksgiving dinner to Ms. Linda James a new resident at one of Habitat's apartments.t

Habitat supports Athens Homeless Shelter's Harvest for the Homeless

Athens Area Habitat for Humanity supports the Athens Homeless Shelter's annual fundraiser Harvest for the Homeless. The event at Hotel Indigo on November 10th at 6pm. Habitat wishes them the best in their fundraising efforts.


Students Build Greenhouse with Materials from the ReStore

This past month 3rd Grade Students from Rocky Branch Elementary School built a greenhouse with materials donated from the Athens Area Habitat for Humaity ReStore.

Closing Early on Friday, All day Saturday

Carpenters Circle Home Dedications Block Party!

Join us Thursday, June 23rd from 4-6pm as we dedicate our first two homes in Carpenters Circle and hand over the keys. We'll have FREE food, live music, kids' games and a very special dedication!

A huge “Thank you!” to our new friends from Bike & Build who spent the day helping us paint our apartment buildings! They did a great job! We’d also like to thank Jittery Joe’s for generously donating coffee to get our volunteers going… and Rafferty’s for donating a delicious lunch to keep them going!
