Team Habitat
A Team Habitat day provides a comprehensive volunteer experience above and beyond a normal build date. This specially designed program allows members of your group to engage in a team building experience while making a difference through a community project.
During the group build, individuals will not only learn new skills in construction but also improve communication, cooperation, and camaraderie. This experience can provide participants the opportunity to work with coworkers from all levels and departments or forge bonds with clients while working towards a common goal.
Athens Area Habitat’s mission is built on a foundation of partnership and teamwork. These important fundamentals will positively impact your group dynamics while emphasizing your organization’s commitment to community.
Groups may recruit up to 20 volunteers to build. Team Habitat build dates are available Wednesday through Saturday. Please contact the Public Outreach Director to schedule a Team Habitat day.
The cost of a Team Habitat build day is $125 per person. The fee, a tax deductible donation, helps to cover construction costs and furthers Athens Area Habitat’s mission of affordable housing initiatives in our community.

In depth orientation covering the fundamentals of Habitat’s mission, foundation of partnership, team building goals, and project specific skills
Lunch break with featured speaker discussing motivation and relevant experiences
Team building activities and small group workshops directed by our trained construction manager
End of day reflection and assessment
Souvenir photo of group
Plaque for workplace
Team Habitat t-shirts for participants, with company logo incorporated (as desired)
Invitation to home dedication ceremony
Recognition in newsletter, website, and media (as desired)
